I hugged my dad when I got home tonight,
For he has always been there.

I can't count the amount of times I have been grateful for him,
Simply because of seeing my close friend who did not have that.
Tonight she was desperate,
Tonight she wanted love.
Tonight she was seeking something she has not found,
Tonight she secretly wanted God.
For she is still looking for love in all the wrong places,
From a man, because she has never truly had that.
She is still more valuable than she knows,
Even though she still does not realize it.
As an aside, she speaks the most truth through poetry. It's how she thinks, who she is at the core. She doesn't seem to know why.
